When you put the sponge underneath the water it expands a great deal. But don't worry it is still able to fit underneath your eyes and around the sides of your mouth.
The design of the sponge has a pointy side for under the eyes and around your nose and is perfect when you are applying concealer. The other end is a fat, big end to apply foundation to the larger areas of your face.
